Stop on Dead Sea shore for 1.5 hour bathing.

The Dead Sea (Israel) is a miracle of nature, an amazing phenomenon that has caused great interest of researchers since ancient times. On the world map, it is located at the junction of Africa and Eurasia, on the territory of two states – Israel and Jordan.

And in fact, this is of course not the sea, but a huge lake, since it has no drains. And the only river flowing into it is the Jordan River.

The Sea is 67 km long, 18 km wide and 300 meters deep, but this is today. It is constantly changing. Now it is 430 m below sea level, but every year it “carries away” an average of one meter.

How was this “sea” formed? Scientists believe that this happened in the Pleistocene era, in the intercontinental basin as a result of the drying up of the sea in one of the areas of the fault. The southern shallow area of the lake (the one that separates from the other Lashon peninsula) probably appeared later after the earthquake.

Stop on the Jordan River at the baptism of Jesus – Qasr El Yahud.

There is no more popular river among Christians around the world than the Jordan River in Israel.

The only one common that can be found in a Christian of the I, XI and XXI centuries is the desire to wash away his sins in sacred water. Believers of all faiths merge into one eternal pilgrimage stream, as the Banias, Dan and Snir rivers flowing from Mount Hermon merge to form the Jordan.

A person may well not know the content of all the commandments or the names of all the apostles, but everyone knows that the Jordan River is the place of baptism of Jesus. And the need not to be baptized, but at least to bathe in it is completely understandable. Small spiritual millimeter to get closer to God the Son.

The Jewish people attitude to this river is also very serious. If you look at the Jordan River on a map, you can see that it permeates the body of the Holy Land from top to bottom. From north to south – like a huge blood vessel, or rather an aquifer, which is vital for a hot Country.

Church of the Nativity.

Basilica of the Nativity – the first Christian Temple in the Holy Land at the birthplace of the Lord Son Jesus. One of the most important relics of Christianity, along with the temples above Calvary and the Holy Sepulcher, Church of All Nations, Garden of Gethsemane and Nazareth.

The Grotto of the Nativity is located in the underground crypt, in its northern part, where two staircases made of ashlar stone lead. The crypt and grotto of Nativity are decorated with white marble. The walls are decorated with draperies and icons. The simple mesh nurseries in which Virgin Mary placed the Jesus are always illuminated by lamps. Opposite the manger is the altar of Adoration of the Magi.

A city where Christmas is always.

Bethlehem is small city. Provincial and also strangled by the Arab-Israeli conflict. City lives at the expense of tourists and pilgrims. Who seek to get there not only during the Christmas holidays, but just to see the famous Basilica with their own eyes.

At the time of the birth of the Messiah, it was a small settlement where folk lived a simple village life. Bethlehem names both Aramaic and Arabic, testify to the peasant labor of the local inhabitants. The first tells of growing bread, the second of raising livestock.

Jerusalem is a holy city for the three major world religions — Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Amazing and colorful city, annually gathering many pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. Jerusalem is rightfully considered the source of life and Christianity throughout the world: in ancient times, cartographers represented Jerusalem as the center of the world. This city of calm and prosperity was often the occasion for bloodshed, the outbreak of war. Even now, Jerusalem is the cause of numerous conflicts, controversial issues.

Via Dolorosa

Via Dolorosa – The Cross Way of Jesus Christ to Mount Calvary (Road of Sorrow). Initially, the name “Via Dolorosa” was a pilgrimage ritual – pilgrims with the singing of psalms walked through the streets of Jerusalem, recalling the path of Christ to Calvary. Only by the end of the XIX century in one of the guides for pilgrims Via Dolorosa appears already as a clear route along the street of the same name, reproducing the road to the place of execution.

Church of the Holy Sepulchre

The most important Church for Christians around the world, a place of holy pilgrimage, receiving God’s grace and blessing is the Temple of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. For two thousand years, the Palestinian land on which modern Israel is located has been preserving the places of life, the Cross suffering, the Atonement, and the Resurrection of the Son of God Jesus Christ.

Within the church proper are the last four (or, by some definitions, five) stations of the Via Dolorosa, representing the final episodes of the Passion of Jesus. The church has been a major Christian pilgrimage destination since its creation in the fourth century, as the traditional site of the resurrection of Christ, thus its original Greek name, Church of the Anastasis (‘Resurrection’).

Western Wall – Main Shrine of the Jews

Western Wall in Israel is known all over the world. Even not having the slightest relation to either Judaism or Jewry, a person knows where it is – in Jerusalem. And everyone knows that the Western Wall of the Temple Mount is the most important shrine of the Jewish people, the only thing left of the Second Temple. Western Wall is located in the Old City of Jerusalem in Jewish quarter.
